Marvel Rivals supports crossplay across all of its platforms - PC (Steam and Epic), PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S - in casual and quick-play modes, enabled by default. Competitive Ranked is the exception: to keep matches fair, PC players (mouse and keyboard) are pooled separately from console players, and the consoles (PlayStation and Xbox) share a controller-based ranked pool. In other words, ranked crossplay happens console-to-console but not between PC and console. Console players can turn crossplay off in the settings menu; on PC it stays on for supported modes. Cross-progression is handled through a central NetEase account to which you link your platform logins (Steam, Epic, PlayStation, and Xbox). Once linked, unlocked heroes, costumes/skins, and premium currency (Lattice and Units) follow you to any platform you sign in on, so you can start on console and continue on PC without losing purchases. However, some data stays tied to each device: your competitive rank, career battle stats, and leaderboard placement are tracked per platform rather than merged, reflecting the same input-based separation used in Ranked matchmaking.
Marvel Rivals is free-to-play, and crucially every hero, map, and core gameplay feature is free - NetEase has repeatedly stated there are no pay-to-win elements, so spending money never boosts your damage, health, or abilities. Monetization is cosmetic: costumes (skins), sprays, emotes, nameplates, and similar vanity items, plus a seasonal Luxury Battle Pass. The economy uses two currencies - Lattice, the premium currency bought with real money, and Units, which convert 1:1 from Lattice and can also be earned for free through the Battle Pass, achievements, and events. A standout feature is that the paid Battle Pass does not expire: once purchased, you can keep unlocking its rewards in later seasons if you do not finish it in time, avoiding the usual seasonal FOMO. NetEase also regularly hands out free skins through events and progression.
